Or, better yet, use a CNC routing table to make yourself a fleet of steam punk-y light cozies. That's what we did for the Three Rings Nautilus themed office space . Cause, well, we don't know how to knit.

20 fixture coverings in all to hide all the boring fluorescent lights. This was the most cost effective way to change the office lighting from totally bland to totally awesome. The covers just clip onto the existing fixtures, allowing for quick set up and take down.

No electrical had to be modified or moved, and the bulbs inside the fixtures are still completely accessible for changing any that burn out.

The fixture covers (aka light cozies) are made of metallic painted MDF and fire retardant paper. These material choices were made to keep the weight of the piece down, so little additional stress is put on the original fixture.

Oh yeah.... and they look really cool!
