Mobile art gallery kiosks.
To be used during the First Fridays Art Walk in downtown San Jose, CA, these rolling, fold out art galleries were designed to be configurable into varrious positions, and be able to display a variety of different kinds of art.
Solar powered LED light strips illuminate the inside.
Acting as both a sun shade and light diffuser, the top lifts well above head height on a hydraulic arm.
The galleries, named the 'Nomads', sit all closed up, waiting for the next evnt to begin.
With the stairs folded up one can access the inside through a side door. This gives the piece a more kiosk feel.
Parts are cut on the CNC machines in our shop, allowing us to have full control of the design and fabrication.
On the shop floor, the skeleton of the piece is assembled.
Dramatic contrasting wood colors add to the fun design and make elements easy to see.
Side door access allows different configurations for the rolling gallery / kiosk.
